Study in Brussels

History

The Brussels Faculty of Engineering (in short "Bruface") is a joined project headed by  two universities located in the centre of Brussels. The Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) jointly offer a broad spectrum of English taught master programmes in engineering.

The Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) was founded in 1834, four years after Belgium's independence. The Vrije Universiteit Brussel (VUB) is the sister university of the French-speaking Université Libre de Bruxelles (ULB) and was founded in 1969. Both the ULB and the VUB are secular and humanist, recognised and subsidised by the state.

The Université Libre de Bruxelles and the Vrije Universiteit Brussel base education and research on the principle of free enquiry, whereby dogmatic preconceptions are rejected and independent judgement is encouraged in all matters.
